§ 01 / 04 — OUR STORY

From operator to founder.

Polymer Flow Solutions was founded by Jonathan Jurgaitis after thirty-plus years at the front of medical and industrial extrusion. Every role pointed at the same conclusion: the hardest problems get solved when experience moves freely between people.

1990s
Polytec Plastics
Operator → Shift Supervisor → Production Manager · St. Charles, IL

Foundation in polymer extrusion processes, properties, and specifications. Custom extruded profiles and pipe. Plant management and sales rounded out the operator-side training.

01
2000s
International Polymer Engineering
Entry into medical extrusion · Materials research

A new polymer vocabulary. Correlating unfamiliar materials with familiar processes. High-temperature extrusion mastered across medical, aerospace, and additive manufacturing — earning industry recognition.

02
2010s
Spectrum Plastics Group / formerly Apollo Medical Extrusion
Introduced high-temp capability · French-scale catheter line · AM filament

Launched standardized French-scale catheter tubing; AM FFF filaments for medical prototyping; developed the process to fully crystallize PEEK tubing during extrusion. Published as white papers and conference talks.

03
2020s
Biomerics
Director of Extrusion · Salt Lake City, UT

Oversaw the implementation of new extrusion processes at multiple locations. Cross-site facilities planning, machinery installation, and process initiation.

04
2025
Polymer Flow Solutions
Founder · Independent practice

An independent practice built on a single idea: that the medical extrusion industry advances faster when expertise is shared. Working alongside processors and visionaries to improve, innovate, teach, and progress the extrusion process.

§ 02 / 04 — OUR SPECIALTY

The hard problems.

Where the polymer is exotic, the temperatures are punishing, and the spec sheet is unforgiving — that is the baseline.

High-temperature polymer extrusion

PEEK, PEI, Sulfones and the materials most shops avoid. In-line crystallization and stress-relieving — the capability set we spent twenty years building.

Melt fluoropolymers

FEP, PFA, ETFE for heat shrink, jacketing, engineered tubing. Process know-how across the melt-fluoro family — and when paste-PTFE is the right answer instead.
